Founded in June 2012 by Kelvin and Jarlyne Joel, JHB Culinary & Pastry School was created to meet the growing demand for skilled, industry-ready chefs. From our humble beginnings, we've proudly guided over 250 students through their culinary journeys.
As a private institution, we are committed to delivering affordable, high-quality education with a strong emphasis on hands-on experience. Our training model is built on a 70% practical and 30% theoretical approach, ensuring our students are prepared for real-world kitchen environments from day one.
In 2018, we launched the Sea Biscuit Foundation NPC—a non-profit initiative dedicated to supporting students in need. The program has gained widespread recognition for its impact and outreach. Continuing our drive to elevate culinary excellence, we introduced the SA Pastry Championship in 2022, giving talented individuals a platform to showcase their skills and compete for prestigious awards.
