JHB Culinary was established in June 2012 by Kelvin and Jarlyne Joel, JHB Culinary & Pastry School has been at the forefront of addressing the industry’s demand for qualified and experienced chefs.
As a private institution that started from humble beginnings, we take immense pride in having shaped the culinary journeys of over 250 students. Our focus is on providing affordable quality education while offering invaluable on-the-job training opportunities. In our curriculum, we emphasize the importance of professional experience, with JHB Culinary & Pastry School dedicating 30% to theoretical training and a significant 70% to practical training.
In 2018, we introduced the Sea Biscuit Foundation NPC, a program designed to support and uplift students in need. This initiative has garnered remarkable recognition and success. Furthermore, in 2022, we initiated the SA Pastry Championship Competition, offering individuals the chance to participate and stand a chance to win a prestigious prize.
